ESPER: The Town on the Edge of Darkness

You are The Occultist, Dr. Ian James McDermott, lead investigator of ESPER: The society for Extraordinary Supernatural Phenomena Explored and Revealed. You have been summoned to New England to speak to Mr. Frederick Stiles, who is being held for killing a girl while visiting her home of Noman Island. But he claims she was never alive to begin with, and begs you to bring him evidence that he didn't really kill anyone. Once you visit the island, the night sky reveals an island previously thought to be abandoned, now teeming with residents and a small town where not everything is as it seems. 

ESPER: The Town on the Edge of Darkness, was made 20 years ago using the Adventure Game Studio engine. It is the precursor to The Occultist series of games, Old Growth and Bridge Under Troubled Water. It's pretty outdated, but after I finish Bridge Under Troubled Water it is going to become the next game in the series, with some big differences. Please ignore any discrepancies in the continuity, as this was made long before I decided on an official ESPER timeline!
