A Bitsy tale of horror based on real events. Arrow keys to move. Move into things to interact with them. Remember to try interacting with everything multiple times, and be wary of the television and the Path Behind the Well at night.

Trigger warning: Religious and occult symbology, and criticism of religion. Some names have been changed. This game is one of the true stories the Occultist series is based on. Byron in this game, for instance, is "Rich" from "Bridge Under Troubled Water."

In May of 1998, a young man arrived at Atlantic Baptist Bible College, a small seminary deep in the woods of Chester, Virginia. He quickly gained popularity, being a charismatic but eccentric individual. However, behind his smile was a dark history of investigating supernatural and paranormal activity, and had been involved in hunting down several child-kidnapping cults by the young age of 17.

He also had lied about his profession of belief in Christianity. Since the age of seven, he had studied the occult arts, and considered himself a Wizard. The only reason he was there was because his family forced him to be, and he couldn't leave, because it would mean being disfellowshipped from his family and the friends he had grown up with.

While at ABBC, this young man, Ian McDermott, met Chaz Phillips, who  had a similar experience. Together, they began investigating the strange paranormal activity at the school and surrounding area. Soon, they were being called to travel all over the country to help people in imminent peril from unseen supernatural forces.

The campus administration heard about these activities, and frowned upon them. However, despite the fact that the students weren't allowed to talk about them, or even study any material including the Bible on matters pertaining to them, the terrifying events didn't stop, culminating in a night of horror still referred to as "The Night of a Thousand Hells."

In order to keep the administration from learning about their activities, Ian and Chaz called the group "The Funk Club," since both of them had somehow always used the word to refer to the supernatural. The group grew to almost every on-campus student, although many of them didn't even realize who the other members were. All activities were referred to using the code word "Funk," and varieties thereof.

Ian and Chaz frequently would bring prospective members to a place called "Snake Road," where they would drive through the dark road which was almost always supernaturally active at night. Prospects were urged to pray what they called "The Idiot's Prayer" the night before their trip, in which they asked that their God open their eyes and reveal to them that the supernatural was real.

It was called the Idiot's Prayer because, despite what many of them claimed, it made their lives much worse once they knew the truth. Many of the old crew have long since disappeared, stopped returning calls and correspondence, some have been placed in mental health facilities, and a few have even committed suicide.

After the Night of a Thousand Hells, the administration began hammering down on anyone suspected of being part of the Funk Club, with an emphasis on Ian. He did eventually get expelled, the week before his graduation, with the administration revoking all of his credits and  destroying his research for his thesis "The Science and Psychology of the Supernatural."

However, with assistance from the rest of the Funk Club, it was discovered that the seminary had fraudulently taken millions from the families of the students. Today, it is nothing but a field full of modular buildings overgrown by the woods, all the furnishings and equipment still abandoned there.

It is highly suggested that you do not try to find it or visit there. Especially not the old well on nights of the full moon.
